Villacher Kirchtag – Experience Tradition Up Close
Every year during the first week of August, Villach transforms into one big celebration—it’s Traditional Week! The festivities kick off with a solemn High Mass on Sunday at the parish church. From there, the streets come alive with people in traditional attire, music, dancing, and, of course, plenty of beer. Don’t miss the famous Kirchtag soup with Carinthian Reindling. On Saturday, the grand traditional costume parade is a highlight, with thousands of participants from Austria and neighboring countries marching through the city.

Villacher Fasching – LEI LEI! The Fifth Season in Villach
Once a year, Villach becomes the ultimate hotspot for fun, wit, and refined humor—it’s Villacher Fasching! It’s even better live than on TV—experience the legendary sessions at the Congress Center and the grand parade through the city center.
But beware: Villacher Fasching can’t be explained—it must be experienced!

The Grand Carnival Parade:
On Carnival Saturday at 2:00 PM, the colorful parade winds through Villach, just steps from Hotel City. Masks and floats compete for the most creative designs before the entire city center turns into a party zone. Motto: “Everyone comes in costume!”
