Every year, during every first week of August, Villach and its guests celebrate a ‘week of tradition’. This begins with the high mass on Sunday at the parish church. Afterwards, everything is done on your feet: in traditional local costume, making music, dancing, drinking beer. Church day soup cooking and the Jakobi market are also part of the tradition. On Saturday, the big costume parade will take place, with guests from all of Austria and nearby countries.
