In the Villach Alps Arena Nordic sports can be practiced all year round. The start of the winter season 2017/2018 is scheduled for December 8. At the entrance to the Dobratsch Nature Park is 5 km of cross-country pre-made tracks. Cross-country skiing at the border triangle is easy to tackle on the classic track or the skater track, even for beginners. The Valley Station is the start and finish of the 10 km long cross-country ski run.
The valley run is open every Thursday at 17:00, for free, for all ski tour enthusiasts, at the Dreiländereck. Regular tour-goers pay 5.00 Euro per day.
If you take the ski tour of Bad Bleiberg on the Dobratsch, you will have a magnificent view of the Julian Alps and the Gailtaler Alps. You will climb and descend 1,253 meters of altitude. The tour is classified as difficult, so it is ideal for the experienced. For a more comfortable tour, but still impressive, is the ski tour over the Almweg from the Rosstratte to the summit.
