The Gerlitzen Alpe can be seen at the northern shore of the Lake Ossiach. The Panorama Kanzelbahn ( panoramic cable car) and the Gerlitzen Gipfelbahn both are leading through there, 2000m above sea level.
If you stand on top, you will see Kärnten with different eyes. The Gerlitzen Alpe is embellished with a wonderful mix of grandiose circular trails, strong peaks, rustic alp huts, exciting Nordic walking trails, cool mountain bike tours and quick descents with the mountain cart track (Pistenflitzer).
The Gerlitzen Alpe is said to be the most beautiful mountain for flying in Austria.
The starting spot is near the peak station of the Gerlitzen Gipfelbahn. It is so exciting to watch para gliders, hang gliders or model pilors during their ascents.
